Boom Briggs Collects Two Wins in 2011, Preparing for Huge 2012 Season!

Bear Lake, PA (November 21, 2011) Rick ‘Boom’ Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team had a very hectic 2011 season that was capped off with wins at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA and Little Valley Speedway in Little Valley, NY.

With the family business hitting its busy season in spring and early summer, Briggs spent a lot of time tending to obligations other than racing.  In return, his results on the racetrack suffered.   Boom posted just

five top five finishes in 17 starts from February through mid-June before claiming the $2,500 Mid-Season Championship at Lernerville on June, 17.  ‘When the (World of) Outlaws were on a break through the month of June, Chub (Frank) and Derek (Chub’s crew chief) were home a lot and helped get my program back on track,’ Boom said from his home in Bear Lake, PA.  ‘The guys at Rocket Chassis also helped get us back in order before I started spending more time at the shop.’

Boom’s season seemed to have turned the corner after the win and into the later months of the season as Briggs posted 18 top ten finishes, including a $3,000 win at Little Valley Speedway, in his final 25 starts to end the season.  ‘Things certainly picked up for us in the second half of the season,’ Boom stated, ‘when we started spending more time in the shop everything started to work a little better with both my program and Chub’s.

Briggs Wins Guaranteed Spot for this Weekend’s ‘Firecracker 100’ at Lernerville
Bear Lake, PA (June 20, 2011)  Rick ‘Boom’ Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team have captured one of the most coveted prizes in the western Pennsylvania region this past Friday, June 17 after winning the Mid-Season Championship at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA which comes with a guaranteed starting spot for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WoO) sanctioned, 5th Annual Firecracker 100 presented by GottaRace.com.
‘Having the guaranteed spot for the Firecracker is a huge

relief for us,’ Boom said, ‘It takes a ton of pressure off during the first two days of the event and lets us go out and race.  Last year we ran well during the whole Firecracker weekend and won a heat on the first night, but now, we at least have something to fall back on if something were to happen, it’s just a big relief.’  Briggs, in his Meridien Hardwoods, Sorbera Family Chiropractic, Horton Equipment, Asel Enterprises, Briggs Transport, Tony Stec Lumber, Chub Frank Racing, CJ’s Auto Transport sponsored 99B Rocket Chassis took the lead from Ken Schaltenbrand on a lap nine restart and held off a late charge from former WoO Champion Darrell Lanigan for the win.
