Boom Briggs Ready to Kick Off 2012
Season
|
Bear Lake, PA (April 16,
2012) Rick
‘Boom’ Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team are set to
kick off their 2012 season this upcoming weekend at
Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA on Friday, April 20 and
Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH on Saturday, April 21 for a
$3,000 to-win, United Late Model Series (ULMS) event.
The unseasonably warm
months of February and March led to the Briggs family
business hitting its busy season a few weeks earlier than
anticipated. The
busy work scheduled derailed Boom’s initial 2012 plans to
compete for the Rookie of the Year title with the World of
Outlaws Late Model Series.
‘We picked up a few more accounts with the family
business,’ Briggs said, ‘and with the warmer weather we had
earlier this spring, things really got hectic at work.
There was just no time for us to take off to make our
way down to Florida.
Heck, I’ve barely been in the shop this off-season
because it’s just been so busy at work.’

Bear Lake, PA (November 21,
2011)
Rick ‘Boom’
Briggs and the Boom Briggs Racing team had a very hectic
2011 season that was capped off with wins at Lernerville
Speedway in Sarver, PA and Little Valley Speedway in Little
Valley, NY.
With the family business hitting its busy season in spring
and early summer, Briggs spent a lot of time tending to
obligations other than racing.
In return, his
results on the racetrack suffered.

five top five finishes in 17 starts from February through
mid-June before claiming the $2,500 Mid-Season Championship
at Lernerville on June, 17.
‘When the (World of) Outlaws were on a break through
the month of June, Chub (Frank) and Derek (Chub’s crew
chief) were home a lot and helped get my program back on
track,’ Boom said from his home in Bear Lake, PA.
‘The guys at Rocket Chassis also helped get us back
in order before I started spending more time at the shop.’

In his last 15 starts, Boom has 11 top ten finishes
and eight top five finishes including three top five’s

Briggs was in action at Stateline Speedway in
Busti, NY on Friday, September 2 and Saturday,
September 3 for a pair of unsanctioned, $3,000 to win

unsanctioned, $3,000 to-win show. Boom would end up
